Chistmas scene

Seasons Greetings!

I thought I would let you in on our holiday cheer, since we're figuring out that we belong to those "weird-dos" who get super super excited about this time of year. I'm a little ashamed to say (because I know people think I step way out of bounds) but... I did start listening to Christmas music in October. I know I know... but I'm tella ya- you gotta make the most of this time! Its so so fun!

Ok so here are some pictures of us in the woods chopping our tree down out in the Three Sisters Wilderness. Little Jordan (who is Heathers sisters daughter, was too cute for words) It was a beautiful day! It didn't take long to decorate our little place and make it feel cozy holidaesc. Heres our duplex- were on the right in this picture.

Two weekends ago, Jon and I threw a couples baby shower for our friends, the Parlas, and had a great time! We made about a million gingerbread cookies in the shapes of a teddy bear and a heart, and decorated them with homemade peppermint frosting. I even made sweetpotato raviloi, which was much less intense than the pumpkin ones I made for Thanksgiving. Sorry- thats pretty bring for most of you.. probably only mom really cares what i cooked. Anyways... the party was great and Heather is ready to pop here any time, only 14 days away from her due date- yikes!

I think were finally getting settled into a routine here, which serves well for Jamies mood (I can be a bit rollercoastery in times of uncertainty and change). Sometimes I get tired of feeling things so intensely! I mean, feelings and emotions are not a bad thing, but geez- some people walk around happy clappy and never seem to be very emotional. And me, I feel everything x10, which can be exhausting sometimes. Anyway, I think I'm a little more leveled out lately, which is refreshing for me, and probably for Jon even more.

Jon is officially registered for school to get his second degree in land surveying! whoo hoo, he even got his first book in the mail today. pretty exciting- we'll let you know how it goes. I'm having a great time at my work. This week we brought our kids at one school these silly funky paper glasses with foods from all 5 food groups on them. When you walk into a lunch room with fish and drumstick glasses on- you are considered pretty stinkin' cool- if you wanted to know. The kids loved it and we got some pretty cute pictures of them all wearing theirs.

Welp, talk to you soon, and turn on some Christmas music for gosh darn sake- only 13 more days 'til Christmas!

You guys are so much fun! We set up everything for Christmas right after Thanksgiving, which is pretty early for us...there's just something about living in a forest and cold weather! Your place looks nice and cozy, and I would like to try some of those home-made raviolis you make. Yes, please come see us soon, and we'll definetly travel out your way too!
