Thanksgiving and some

Phew... and were back.

Its been quite the busy time for us with our move. You know how long it can take to set up everything, including the computer. Well, now were undertaking the process of moving everything from our old CPU to the new one. Yup that's right after having Jon's for 7 years, its was time. And our new neighbor just happens to be an IT guy so he built this one for himself, but didn't need it anymore. So since it was good timing and a good deal we went for it.

We hosted mom and dad up here in Bend for Thanksgiving! Hooowee was it cold for them! Winter has come folks and we are figuring out the routine to stay warm. You cant be comfortable in 30 degrees without long johns let me tell you! But Jon and I are actually enjoying the change of seasons. With winter comes things that we love! Cozy evenings at home, Turkey dinners, egg nog in front the fire with Christmas music, snow flurries out the window, scarves, hats, gloves, and boots. There's just something to be said about the beauty of winter.

Here's a few pics from the past holiday! We had a fun chilly hike to Benham falls, just outside Bend, the morning of Thanksgiving. Then we came home to start the cookin'. This was my first ever attempt to put on the huge holiday, and since I had lots of help, and not too many people to please, it really went well! Mom and dad helped with the turkey, Jon did the salad and everything was amazing! I'd say our appetizer, Pumpkin raviolis with Gorgonzola cheese sauce was the most eccentric but very fun to make and taste! We also enjoyed a pumpkin roll this year for dessert instead of the traditional.

Mom and I hit up JoAnns the day after thanksgiving, which was our only shopping that day, thank goodness! I heard some people waited outside Best Buy down in San Diego, from 7pm the night before to get a free laptop (but they were only number 15 in line and only the top ten got one) CRAZY! would you miss thanksgiving dinner for a laptop? Just curious.

We spent some time in Sisters, OR, since it is one of Jon's and my favorite spots. and the town where the largest outdoor quilt show is held. On Friday we also put up our first Christmas lights in the neighborhood! We got a few honks during the process and I'd say we're definitely brightening our little duplex neighborhood.

Jon and Dad had some fun playing with cards, see below. And I think Dad got pretty hooked on the game "SET." It was quite fun to see him be so easily entertained. Ok, so that's nothing new but it was still fun!

Whelp, were starting to settle into a routine in our new place. So hopefully we'll be on here a little more often. More pictures of the new house to come...
