Theres a few pictures of our drive down to CA with Aspen. Shes pretty entertaining!
We took a day and went up to Elk Lake on one our weekends that we were actually in Bend in July. It was a beautiful day and Apsen loves the water. We even took her floatin on the river for the first time- she has a little camo life jacket to help her stay in the water longer. I think shes part whale. She is 55 pounds now, but looks like shes 70 because of her fluff.
Dave and Chelseas wedding was a blast! We left the pooper with friends here and headed down to SLO. It was such a fun reunion with all the "Ark" mates and many friends we hadn't seen in 6 months to 3 years! It made us have those reminiscent moments about being back with old friends and have the hopes that sometime down the road you might end up in the same place. We're gonna try and plan some Portland weekends. Dave will be in Seattle, a few others are in the northwest, and many can fly in for pretty cheap, especially from Sac or Denver! We'll just have to make sure that happens.
We had a great time with the Cummings family, as the Fitches always do. The bond between those two families is something to seek after. Lives so close and intertwined, I think its one of my dreams to have that. I'll keep praying. We spent a day at Pismo beach and Jon got some fun surf in, even though the waves were crappy. Some is better than none!
We also got to see some whales, dolphins, and seals. IF any of you have ever seen the Blue Planet series- we got to witness a neat phenomenon that I learned from that. In the show it shows how dolphins and birds work together to hunt for fish. The dolphins surround a huge school of fish from below and force them to the surface. The birds attack from above and you see them dive bombing. You can kinda see a pictures of what it looked like, but it doesnt do it justice. I thought it was the coolest thing to see it all happen in the wild!

hi jon and jaime...long time no talk! Josh, Curtis, and I are all home sick today with bad colds! Bummer! But we did enjoy reading your blog and getting updated on all your happenings!!! Sound like you are doing well and are busy, busy, busy!!! We have had a good summer being busy ourselves...lots of junior high events, weddings, baby showers, and a few camping trips! Please let us know the next time you are out this way! We would love to see you! Jana Huntsinger
I think we might have crossed paths in our trips down to CA! We were in SLO at the end of July picking up a vehicle for my new job. That's cool you saw the bike crits going on in your town, I'm pretty sure some of our racing friends were there, even one of them won the mens crit. We are now updating our blog monthly too, so check it out. Great update, can't wait to catch up soon! -Katie

Wow guys, what a super busy summer! I'm bummed we didn't meet up any weekends...let's keep trying though, hopefully sometime soon?! We started building our house so our weekends are going to be pretty crazy for a while. Nonetheless...we're open to a spontaneous rendezvous.
