Home is where the heart is!

Hello from Oregon praying friends and family!

We made it up here in one piece and have commenced the journey. We spent the first night in Klamath Falls and decided to keep moving. We woke up to a cozy layer of ice plastered to our windows (but we were nice and warm). Next stop, Bend by way of Crater lake. Crater lake was beautiful, though the forest could use some help cleaning itself up. So here we are in the Deschuttes public library and so far Bend is awesome. We had lunch at a park on the river right downtown. One thing that we really like about this place is all the walking and biking lanes! We might stay here a couple of days to get a good feel for it all.

What have we learned so far you ask? Well, we are realizing that we really dont have a home, and sometimes that is a bit overwhelming. BUT, we are currently learning to rely on our Lord as it is all in His hands. God is soo good! We are fed, warm, have gas in the car, we are close together, have many people praying and making requests on our behalf, and we are looking to Jesus! We are richly blessed beyond measure. Its neat to see that when we dont work everything out on our own, we can actually see God at work.

We love all the comments, it makes us feel like you are here with us!
**and were trying to figure out how to put pictures on here from a public computer- but i dont think we can here, we might try at the next place.

"Thus says the LORD to Cyrus His anointed, Whom I have taken by the right hand, To subdue nations before him And to loose the loins of kings; To open doors before him so that gates will not be shut:
I will go before you and make the rough places smooth; I will shatter the doors of bronze and cut through their iron bars.
I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden wealth of secret places, So that you may know that it is I, The LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name.
For the sake of Jacob My servant, And Israel My chosen {one,} I have also called you by your name; I have given you a title of honor Though you have not known Me.
I am the LORD, and there is no other; Besides Me there is no God. I will gird you, though you have not known Me;
That men may know from the rising to the setting of the sun That there is no one besides Me. I am the LORD, and there is no other"

Hi Jamie & Jon:

I wanted to attach some photos of the cat but can't figure that out. Maybe I'll e-mail them to you.

So did you find some firewood and make a big warm campfire?

Dustin has some friends in Oregon. He's going to try and track them down and maybe they can show you around.

Talk to you both soon.

Love Mom

Hi Fitches -
We know how much fun it is to get comments, so I thought we should add one! We are so excited about what you guys are learning and experiencing. We have been missing the beauty of Oregon and wish we could be there. But, God has us on our own unique journey for now. Hope our paths cross soon!

Jon and Jamie - I have never been on a blog sight before. Call me clueless, but your adventure was too good to pass up! Glad to here all is well. I had two Thanksgivings in Bend and spent some days on Mt. Bachelor Skiing. The place is cold in the winter! I remember sitting in a hot tub and went to feel my head and my hair was frozen. Then I looked around and everyone elses hair was frozen too! It was crazy. Another odd memory was that after Thanksgiving dinner in Bend, everyone had a chew of tobacco, even the girls! Call if you need anything -

hey you guys!
Sounds like you guys are having a blast! Just thought I'd drop you some saavy travel tips 1) don't eat the yellow snow 2) don't tell mom and dad when you do stuff like eat random things people give you, get lost in ghettos at night, stay with strangers you don't know. makes em get all freaked out. 3) do embrace all seasonal and cultural activities even if it draws strange looks and people think you're acting immature. I am praying for you guys bunches and hope God bless you fully!! Love and hugs, Kal
