So this weekend was awesome! My dad and uncle showed up in Bend for a 1.5 day visit- short but packed with some fun events. We fixed a feast saturday night for a central oregon welcome. They had been fixin things over at my aunts house in coos bay, so I think they're days here were quite relaxing. At least I hope. Sunday we woke up and dad showed my roomates how the master makes crepes (i still consider myself an apprentice) and they were amazing! We took sweet Rocky dog on a walk where I go running every weekday morning. Unfortunately the day was pretty cloudy and we even got sprinkled on our walk. After that, we walked downtown to give them a view of the little touristy downtown Bend. We took a walk through Drake Park- see the pic.

I wanted to give Dad a view of what our life is like here so we invited a few good friends over for lunch. Some fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil sandos, and some killer quesadillas were the center pieces as ten of us gathered around the table. My friend Heather walked in with the expression "You look exactly like him!" meaning that I look just like my dad- which i've heard before and I'm pretty proud of, even though my dad now has a predominantly white beard growing (I think she saw through that). We had a great visit and it was so neat to see my family world collide with our new found friends in Bend. My roomates and friends all love my dad and uncle and think they are really neat guys. I'm similar to my dad in a lot of ways, so i guess if they like me... they might like me dad too. We spent the afternoon in the thick of the Deschutes National Forest hiking along the Tumalo creek and viewing the classic waterfall. A microbrew was a must see destination, since Bend is pretty famous for some amazing beer. We walked to Deschutes brewery and enjoyed some great brewskis and good food.

We got rained on a bit on our walk home, luckily its less than 1/2 mile. It was a bummer the clouds covered our beautiful sun and stunning mountains all weekend... however we woke up this morning to a clear crisp morning that turned into a warm summer day! Jon reports he worked in only jeans and a Tshirt! I took dad and tom up to Pilot butte which is a round lava butte in the middle of the city with amazing views!

I was so happy the sun was out so they could see our beautiful mountains. I grew up next to some beautiful mountains, but for some reason these still blow my mind! Overall it was a great visit and I really hope next time, he'll bring his counter part.
