Jon and I have been having a great time down here in California. Seeing family has been great and I think we are giving them hope that traveling from Oregon isn't as far as we once thought, and that we'llbe seeing them more than once a year. How can we resist any opportunity to see the family we love so much! and I think after offering for people to come and stay about a million times, they are starting to get the idea!
Christmas at each of my parents was loud, crazy and fun with 5 kids on each side + their "lovers" as Kallie says. Its been awhile since ALL of us have been together and its just as good as I remember. We got to spend some great time with Dustin and Theresa (who are now engaged!! see picture at right) Super exciting and we all love her- shes perfect for him. I can't wait to get a new sister in summer of 2008. It was great to see all the siblings at my moms, especially Karen since we hadn't seen her in a long long time.We have been able to see of the fam, except those newlyweds Melody and Zac, we won't see them until they come to see us in Bend, wink wink. Christmas at my Dads was really nice without the gifts this year. For those of you who don't know, my fam decided to give the money we would have spent on gifts to a charity or some one in need. Really it made the whole Christmas evening more pleasant for all of us. Its nice to get back to what the season is about; celebrating the birth of our savior, spending time with those we love, and blessing those who need it most.
Lets see, what else... we went to see Pursuit of Happiness and I cried a bunch. Its a good movie, but hard to watch at times, especially for those of us who dive into the movie and feel everything the characters feel. Through the tears I had my Dad on one side and Jon on the other so I felt pretty good between my two favority men in the world!
This was the first Christmas Jon spent away from his family. He had so much fun with my family- they're pretty entertaining- but missed being with his on the big day. But our time was long enough to zip over to Santa Rosa for New Years. We are in SR now and today is Christmas eve- ok well its the 29th, but is our Christmas eve. We'll be here until New Years Day, or the day after- depending on weather.
Welp, hope you're all doin well and got to spend some time with everyone you love!

Good movie huh? Know what movie you shouldn't see? The Good Shepard, super boring and confusing. yep. sweet hope newyears was fun and remember, only 7 half-offs left! First come first serve, does Oregon have that kind of incentive? Nope all you got is Oregon, and like the only reason anybody has even heard about that state is from the Oregon Trail game back in ele school. Grueling pace, tiny rations, thats how i roll. Peees.
