First week back in the O-state and I'd say it went pretty well. Jon is finishing his 3rd day at work at the moment and so far so good. He likes his coworkers, and the work. Not sure if its the crazy amazing equipment they are using( you know how much Jon likes expensive toys- now he gets to work with them, and they pay him!) I'll let him tell the rest of the story when he gets on the Blog.
It's been a good first week and a good beginning of a new season of our lives. The past 4 months have truly been amazing. We have learned so much and grown more than I think we did in the previous 4 years. We are daily living for what we know is important, not that we didnt do that before- but I think we had many distractions. We have actually seen miracles. In this life and this culture we are so comfortable all the time we don't leave room for many miracles. Well, with our seemingly foolish decisions to leave a comfortable home, income, and everything we knew, we definitely left room for God to show up, and boy did He! I've had a few days to get our house settled after our trip, and have had time to reflect on the past year. I am so thankful for it all, even being in tears and homeless in 1 degree weather. Because it was times like that, I felt closer to Jon and closer to God, than ever.
I look around at where he brought us... and I'm amazed. We have a warm roof over our heads, a means to sustain our needs, friends that really know us, and a love that is incredible.
So tonight we are going to endeavor on a journey that we have never done before. We are going night snow shoeing on some trails outside of Bend. Anthony and Heather will be taking us, and giving us some pointers, since John, Stacey and I have never been (my Jon's a mountain man- so its not his first time). I think were bringing our backpacking stove to brew up some hot cocoa at the goal destination- they have a little lookout there or something. Should be exciting! maybe I'll take some pics to share.
